New Collection: Christian Louboutin launches Nail Collection

Christian Louboutin is a name that almost everyone recognizes in shoes! "Loubous", as the stilettos are often referred to, have one of the most defining elements - the famous #RedBottom. The iconic look started when the bottom part of the shoes were painted Red and they haven't looked back...until now!

Louboutin has recently launched a signature collection of Nail Polishes. They have begun the launch with the iconic Red. The bottle is inspired by the signature stiletto, the Ballerina Ultima. The long and spiky lid resembles the tall heel.

Such a unique thing to see when Fashion and Beauty come full circle. The creation of the red heel started with a used bottle of Nail polish as one of the most memorable trends for shoes and the brand.

Beauty Pick - Nails: OPI Black Cherry Chutney

The easiest way to change your look is amping up your nails.  As we get into the colder months of Fall, we are seeing gorgeous hues of Browns, Navys, Reds and Burgundy.

My favourite trend is the deep blood-hued nails! It reminds me of the 90's nail polish obsession that many of us had for an affordable nail shade called "Blackest Red"!  My current obsession is OPI's Black Cherry Chutney.

This is a gorgeous shade to wear for the season and a perfect compliment any Halloween Outfit or Costume that is vampire inspired! The photos do not do it justice, therefore, see the description below:

I am so excited that Summer is here and we finally get to see colourful things in nature, in fashion and of course makeup.  I painted a colour wheel many years ago for a school art project.  What was really neat about this wheel is that you could easily understand which colours looked great together and which ones were complementary to one another as well.

Nails for Spring 2012 :)

The Spring season brings beautiful days, blossoming flowers and amazing colours for Fashion and Beauty!  With recent trends of colour blocking and bright colours of pinks, corals, oranges and purples, nail colour choices are just as exciting for this season.  They will help compliment and complete your look.

The China Glaze colours I have picked are awesome because they work beautifully for this season.  If you are looking for a pop of colour or to help create a uniformed look, these colours are my Spring 2012 faves!

Now that I see them all listed, I thought oh its only an OPI addiction but there are PLENTY of nail blogs coming up this week and I have collected Sally Hansen as well as China Glaze!

And, I am starting the Short Nail Revolution.  My nails are paper thin and don't grow and on occasion I will put on false nails, but in the meantime I love my shortness and am proud to rock all these amazing colours, so join me in this revolution!

OPI Nail Haul!!

Hey everyone, it has been a long absence from the blog but I am back and excited to share and show you some great new items, reviews and eye looks!

Today I am sharing with you some great nail colours that are all by OPI. 

Now, I couldn't help it, I was at the Promenade Mall, working a Vasanti Event, and I noticed the Salon across the isle was advertising 30% off on OPI Nail Polishes! The awesome staff at Curio Hair & Body helped me find some amazing colours for the Summer.  Check it out below:

THAT'S HOT! PINK
OPI - Mod About Brights Collection – Summer 2008

Description:
A great finish and a great pink solid polish with no shimmer. Great paired with the Silver shatter!

Impression:
I adore PINK; therefore this is a MUST for the summer!


TEAL THE COWS COME HOME

Description:
A blue based, teal shimmer. Reminds me of the bright blues from the 80’s!

Impression:
A great colour to add a little kick to your work look! Definitely not for the weak!


PLUGGED IN PLUM

Description:
Literally looks like a brightly lit, electric plum. Opaque finish and a great choice for purple lovers!

Impression:
Great bold colour for a Night out or a Party! :)



SILVER SHATTER
OPI - Pirates of the Caribbean Collection – 2011

Description:
A glittery silver, when applied over top a nail polish, will move and separate to create a “shattered” appearance. The silver is fun as it creates some very interesting looks.

Impression:
Worth experimenting with, but works a lot better with longer nails!

THE ONE THAT GOT AWAY
OPI – The Katy Perry Nail Collection – 2011

Description:
This deep raspberry has a glass-sparkle finish with hints of the glitter in the same colour tone, and I love anything sparkly! Any of you who own glass-sparkle polishes know that a camera really can’t capture its natural beauty so you know this one is even better in person.

Impression:
Smile Worthy x 10, a must for you nail lovers!

NOTD - OPI Russian Navy

Even though, Spring is around the corner, I am not giving up on the dark nail shades just yet. I am loving the OPI nail colours and picked this shade right before the new year. 

I love greys, purples and blues and this looked like such a great shade of Purple and BLUE (Burple or Plue)!!! I had to have it!

I have picked up MANY nail polishes over the last few months and I love them equally as they are so pretty, its almost like a shoe addiction...hmmm shoes this shade would be awesome!  :) 

Anyway, back to this gorgeous polish. This dark sexy blue shade is from the OPI Russian Collection.   As I mentioned above, the colour is not quite the shade it appears in the bottle, nonetheless it was a great surprise! I have applied this shade as a double coat.

NOTD - Nail Look of the day

Hey everyone!

If you love to wear nail polish, you will love and have hopefully had a chance to experience what O.P.I. has to offer!  O.P.I. offers a GREAT selection of colours/shades to suit any occasion, any mood and any desire.  I really am favouring purples lately and found this great shade (one of many) called:  The Colour to Watch.

This shade is from the O.P.I. - Swiss Collection (Fall/Winter 2010).  The best way to describe the colour is that its a purple/lilac shade that applies shimmery with flashes of blue.  An iridescence appearance which looks great on the nails during these super cold months!

I love this colour because it will transition into spring very nicely.  One of my top faves at the moment.
