Everyone has their go-to look that they have hung onto, regardless whether it was 10 years ago or longer.  It may be something we dabbled into when we first discovered our love for makeup, perhaps a signature colour of lipstick, a particular product or a certain way of wearing eye makeup etc.

I thought it would be fun to share some makeup idea swaps that may help to move some of you into a new direction of wearing a particular look or product, check it out below:

LIQUID EYE LINER

Discovered:  Circa 90’s and before then in Egyptian times.

Product used then:  Cover Girl Liquid Liner

• Swap Product:  Gel based Eye liners | Pen based | Soft Pencil
• Suggestions:  MAC’S Blacktrack Fluid line | Maybelline MasterKajal Pencil 

BLUE EYE SHADOW

Discovered:  Disco era and beyond

Product used then:  Flat/Matte blue shadow applied all over the lid

• Swap Product:  Metallic Eye shadows or Eye Pencils
• Suggestion:  Giorgio Armani Eye Tints | Makeup Forever Aqualiner Pencils

FROSTED LIPSTICK

Discovered: Circa 90’s in Pink tones. Revisited in the 90’s with brown tones.

Product used then:  Baby Pink Frosted Tone Lipsticks

• Swap Product:  Sheer Finish Lipsticks | Lip Balms | Lip Gloss
• Suggestion: MAC Lipglass in PRRR

BEIGE/BROWN LIPSTICK

Discovered: Popular in the 90’s (Think Cindy Crawford or anyone on Friends!)

Product used then: Revlon Toast of New York and any beige lipstick from MAC

• Swap Product: Beige/Brown has made a comeback but in more light reflecting finishes
• Suggestion: Revlon’s Colorburst Lip Butters | Darker Matte Lip like Fast Play by MAC

PINK BLUSH

Discovered: Since the start of makeup when women would use berries to darkly stain cheeks

Product used then: Fruit and Variety of Pink Only shades of blushes.

• Swap Product: Sheer blushes in a variety of shades which work well with all skin tones 
• Suggestion: Cheek Fabric Powder Blush by Giorgio Armani | NARS Orgasm Blush.

#Instagram Beauty Look | Neutral Tones

Here is a great neutral look that I love wearing as my go-to everyday makeup. The colours are soft, the skin is glowing while the lips and eyes are balanced without being too overpowering.

Let's be real, anyone who receives a goodie bag, a gift or swag, can't help themselves but to feel excited! That's how I felt when I received my goodies from Giorgio Armani. I got a mix of current and yet to be launched goodies which I am going to share below!

SUN FABRIC SHEER BRONZERS

Giorgio Armani launched a collection of NEW bronzers for the Summer called Sun Fabrics. My two favourites from this collection were Shade #100 and #400. Shade #100 is a a gorgeous, smooth caramel brown that diffuses beautifully on the skin. A great all over bronzer to set foundation or for a soft contour in the hollows of the Cheek and the perimeter of the face. Travel friendly with the inclusion of a brush!

Shade #400 is a bit warmer and adds more depth to the face. I like to use this one as my "touch-up" bronzer to re-emphasize the cheek bones, works great alone or paired with blush. This also makes a great transition colour for eye shadows whether you are doing a smokey or a neutral eye.

EYES TO KILL MASCARA

This is a gorgeous Mascara, creates full, long, thick and dramatic lashes. The formula is amazing to work with and you can continuously work the product through your lashes till you achieve the desired look! The whole collection of Mascaras are amazing, but this one is my current favourite!


CHEEK FABRIC SHEER BLUSH

I absolutely adore this blush! Shade #506 looks great on EVERY skin tone. The blush is a warm rosy pink which is super flattering. Offers great pigment and blend-ability which diffuses onto the cheeks perfectly!


ROUGE ECSTASY LIPSTICK

This is such a gorgeous pink shade called Peony, a warm pink shade that works well from Summer into Fall. Rouge Ecstasy lipsticks are amazing because they have Vitamin E and Shea Butter which helps to protect the lips with each use. Highly pigmented colour with an amazing hydrating feel!

There are three new shades coming in for the already existing Rouge Ecstasy collection. Three new Red Inspired shades. Let me introduce you to Rouge Ecstasy Spice a gorgeous warm Red! I will be doing a look based on this shade soon so you can see how it looks on!

I am obsessed with this palette! Adding any sort of highlighting to the skin can be tricky if the product has too much sparkle but you don't have to worry with this product. This is a gorgeous palette that offers the following:

The lipstick texture is smooth and moisturizing. This colour may be too cool for deeper skin tones but adding it to warmer lipsticks would work well. A great addition to your makeup bag!

My Favourite Blushes! :)

Hey everyone!

It has been a loooooong and cold winter and a very long time since I have posted something on my blog.  I was inspired this month by the cold weather, to do a blog on blushes.  The natural flush/blush that is created with cold winters can be one way to achieve that look on your cheeks, but I wouldn't want to stand out in the cold to do so.  Also as the weather gets warmer, we cannot hold onto the winter flush, therefore I have listed below my favourite blushes. 

I have olive/brown skin with yellow undertones, being south asian, and find the colours below work VERY well and can also be options for people who have tan skin.  Any blush lover, I am sure, will LOVE the blushes below!
