Travelling Essentials - Tips and Products I loved

Recently I went on vacation to England.  I was excited for the trip but I wasn't excited about the drying and uncomfortable effects that can occur to the body during air travel.  I did a bit of research and found some neat little tips which helped make my trip comfortable.

1.  Drink PLENTY of Water
Even though it may increase the number of trips to the washroom, it is worth it!  Not only is the extra H20 great for your body, but it is also great for your skin to minimize dry skin.  Since you are walking back and forth to the washroom, your are increasing your circulation in your body, which is a bonus since you are sitting for such a long time.

2.  Moisturize
I brought along with me a hand and a facial moisturizer.  Typically my hands are always drier than my face, therefore I brought a cream based one for my hands and since my face tends to be more oily, I brought a gel based moisturizer.  I was so happy that I did.  The creamier texture for the hands was perfect, and I didn't have to use it as much.  I used the face moisturizer more and was glad that it was gel based and it absorbed beautifully. Another great item to have is a lip balm as your lips can get dry as well.  Here are the products below that I used:

Face | Biotherm - AquaSource

Hands | Aveeno - Intense Relief Hand Cream

Lips | Fresh - Sugar Rose Tinted Lip Treatment SPF 15

3.  Avoiding Nausea
I have always suffered with motion sickness, therefore my go to solution is Gravol.  All I need is one pill and it does the trick.  I feel alert and not overly relaxed.  You can also try Ginger Tea or Gingerale of course which is readily available during your flight.

Hopefully these tips may help, please feel free to share your tips too!

Makeup Memories - The Women who inspired me :)

The earliest memories I have where I was exposed to the application of make up, started around the age of 4.  These memories are tied to some great women and what I learned and saw will stay with me forever. I have many memories to share, but for now I would like to share a few that were the most memorable.

1.  My Babysitter
I remember that I was 5 years old, and at my babysitters', her older daughter would come home from school, (she was in Uni), and would begin her beauty routine before she headed out with friends.  I remember being in awe of her and how exciting her life was, mind you, anything was exciting to a 5 year old.  Anyway, she was putting on her makeup and she offered to let me watch her get ready as long as I was quiet.  That memory has stayed with me to this day, I remember being mesmerized by her transformation and how much I couldn't wait to do it myself one day.

2. My Mom
My Mom has a developed a very natural look over the years, but she has always loved her deep mauve and burgundy toned lipsticks.  Even though she is more conservative now, there was a time when she loved bolder Makeup looks.  There was one lipstick in particular that she wore alot when I was young and it was Revlon's Charlie Lipstick in Red.  I remember the silver cap and the light blue bottom and remember the bright bold Red it was and how great she looked wearing it.

3. My Cousin Pami
I always did look up to her when it came to her sense of style and the way she wore her Makeup.  I remember visiting her in England when I was 13 and she had her eyes done with fluttery mascara, shimmery toned eye shadow and this amazing electric blue eye liner.  I was in love with that look.  Every time I wear my electric blue toned eye liners, I always think of her.

Do you have anyone that inspired or inspires you?  Feel free to share!

90's Throwback - Toast of New York :)

My very first lipstick experience, (minus the one that got me in trouble at home), was Revlon's Toast of New York.  It was THE colour, for every girl in high school in the 90's.  It was a moisturizing, smooth feeling and perfect shade of toasted brown. It looked great on everyone.

Check out my fave lipstick from the 90's:

Please feel free to share your first lipstick memory!

L.O.T.D - L'Oreal Sea Fleur

I am totally in love with Magenta's, Pinks, and Bold Purples for Lips!  I think with the colder weather and the cloudier days, it is a fun option to turn up the volume in colour from our lipstick choices.

Here is a great colour from L'Oreal to try.

What I love about this lipstick is that it feels really smooth on and has a nice sheen finish. Perfect to wear alone or with a shiny gloss!
