Beauty Look | Soft and Natural Makeup Look via ABH Modern Renaissance Eyeshadow Palette

Here is another makeup look featuring the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette! I'm still in love with this palette!

To be honest, usually the novelty wears off for me, after a few weeks of using a new product. Then I would typically go back to my regular faves, but this one has become a great go-to for me! The shadows work beautifully together or alone and the blendability is awesome! (You don't have to be a makeup artist to get beautifully blended and smoked out eye looks)!

The makeup look I did, was more on the soft and natural side, which was perfect for a summer wedding I went to back in August. I really like how the look came together and that this was a simpler version of a smokey eye.

Since this was a summer wedding that was outdoors, I opted not to do a highlight or any shimmer, since my face naturally would produce that glow. Hope you like the look, more to come!

Beauty Look | Anastasia Beverly Hills Palette - Cool Mauve #Makeup Look - #ModernRenaissance Eyeshadow Palette

In the past, for me to be able to achieve a cool toned eyeshadow look, on my skin tone was challenging. The reason it would be difficult is that either the shadows weren't pigmented enough or I had to layer a lot of primer/concealer to get the shadows to look right.

Even though at first glance, the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette looks like a warmer palette, there are a few colours in the palette, that allowed me to create this cool mauve look.

Really like how this look came together! I loved how I could use the duo ended brush that comes with this palette to do all of the eyeshadow application. More looks to come!

Finally!! I have this baby!!

I couldn't wait to get my hands on this Eye shadow palette!  I wanted to see the reviews and makeup looks first before I got it. This is the method I use for my makeup purchases and it's never failed me yet. Once I saw the reviews and the makeup looks, I then headed to Sephora to see the palette in person. As soon as I saw the palette, I was sold!

I have to say, this is my first Anastasia Beverly Hills product purchase, which initially, I thought would have been an eye brow product, since those were the products that put ABH on the map! Bus as ABH started to expand their product offering to other makeup, I was intrigued!

I really like the mix of matte and shimmer shades in this palette as well as the 2 sided brush, which for me, is a bonus!  Below is my overall impression:

• Pigmented Colours
• Minimal Fallout
• Good blendability
• Loved the velvety packaging
• 2 ended Brush is a plus for travelling
• You can create soft natural looks to super dramatic eye looks

So far this palette is a WIN! To celebrate, I will be sharing a number of makeup looks in the next few days. The looks will be a variety of neutral, soft and super glam looks, which I am excited to share!

Lifestyle | My #ThyroidCancer Story....

I was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer in April of 2017 and as a result, I took time away from the blog. There may have been a few blog posts I did, here and there, but truthfully, I wasn't able to keep up with the blog as I was feeling overwhelmed with everything.


Now that I am approaching my 1 year scan, I am ready to talk and share in more detail what has happened, how I found out, what prompted me to look for answers on why I wasn't feeling well. I also wanted to share my "in the moment" experience as it was happening to me.


I wanted to:

• Share things that helped me cope and stay positive
• Shed light on accurate info about Thyroid Cancer since there are many misconceptions
• Reinforce that every Cancer story and experience is so personal and unique
• Provide Thyroid Cancer/Disease awareness
